I don't hate this

I have always been fascinated with the differences in siblings.  It's amazing to me that two people with the same parents can be totally and completely different.  Since the day I found out I was pregnant I started imagining the ways my kids would be the same and how they would be different.  So far Lucy and Nora are pretty similar in looks- same cheeks at least.  Nora appears to be blue eyed vs. Lucy's hazel and Nora has less hair than Lucy did and Nora's hair appears to be lighter.  I won't go so far as to say Nora is blond because that would be crazy, but her hair is lighter than Lucy's light brown hair.

Nora also really enjoys sleeping, which is new and different.  She still wakes up once or twice a night, but she's not the all night party animal that Lucy was.  Nora also LOVES to eat.  She would nurse all day long if she could.  Lucy liked eating just fine but Nora lives for it.

Both of my girls are happy happy ladies.  Lucy was a happy baby and Nora is following suit.  Nora loves to be sung to and when she "talks" it sounds like singing.  She seems to have a very gentle spirit- rarely fusses and when she does it isn't particularly demanding or harsh.  She is the perfect addition to our family and it's a joy and honor to watch her grow!

Meeting Great Grandma

Nora met her Great Grandma this weekend.  Grandma was smitten right away.  At the end of the day Grandma proclaimed that she thought we ought to keep Nora - we all agree!

5 months!

I have no idea how we got to five months so quickly.  Surely it was just the other day I was cradling a little five pounder in the NICU.  This squishy biscuit is such a joy.  My two girls are more than I could have ever dreamed of for myself.  Nora is growing fast and furiously.  I think she may catch up on weight officially by 6 months and weigh the same if not more than her sister did at 6 months.  Preemie what?  The way she loves to eat she wasn't going to stay behind the growth curve too long.

Nora is a singer.  She coos and sings all the time.  I think she sounds like a happy Mogwai so I've started calling her Gizmo.  Other nicknames include: biscuit, little moo, and sugar pea

Happy Baby

This kid is always smiling and she smiles with her whole entire face.  I hope she is always so joyful and that her joy is always written all over her whole face.

It's a mystery!

I already can't remember how it happened exactly, but during bedtime a couple of nights ago I said "it's a mystery!" and Nora just cracked up.  She laughed a big belly laugh and this reaction has been re-creatable many times since.
